Real Wedding: Ching & Andrey

On July 14th, 2012 Ching and Andrey got married at the beautiful Kunde Family Estate located in the heart of Sonoma County. The estate took up a vast 1,850 acres and it was complete with lush green vineyards and a view of the Mayacamas Mountain range in the backdrop. We wanted the design of the wedding to be whimsical yet still reflect the natural beauties of the wine country. The colors we had chosen on for the design were royal purple, raspberry, fuchsia, flame orange, and touches of moss green. We also added unique touches to all of our designs by including so many non-floral elements, like moss, birch bark, grape vines, mushrooms, eggplants, and artichokes!

Take a look at the photos...

We added touched of eggplant to this unique bouquet.

Real Wedding: Carlin & Danny

On July 7th 2012, Carlin & Danny got married in a beautiful tall white chapel at the Church of Nativity, and their reception that followed was at the sophisticated Menlo Circus Club. Each of these locations allowed for one-of-a-kind picturesque wedding; the chapel itself reached 55ft tall with lush red flowers leading to it's entrance and the beautiful Menlo Circus Club had vibrant green lawns and a lavish grand entrance perfectly suited for a wedding.

We wanted the design of the wedding to reflect the elegant country club atmosphere, which was natural, relaxed, yet fun. The colors we chose to stick with in the designs were khaki, white, viburnum green, sherbet orange, and blue.

At the entrance of the club we placed a tall vase which was wrapped in burlap then full of curly willow, green hydrangeas, white roses, white stock, and orange double tulips.

We custom designed a wheat grass escort card display in a low burlap wrapped box with curly metal card holders.

On the cocktail table that over looked the vast green field we placed three small arrangements of belladonna, freesia, zinnia gerbers, roses, double tulips, and veronica.

On the fireplace mantle we placed small white arrangements of hydrangeas and stock which were illuminated by the candle light.
The tall centerpieces that dressed the dinner tables were very similar to the grand entrance arrangement, yet these were adorned with small glass votives.

The signature drink arrangement was designed to reflect upon the Bride & Groom's grandparents favorite cocktail.

Butterfly Cakes designed this lovely treat and we adorned it with roses, dahlias, and double tulips.

ISES Gala 2012

Last night, our team had an excellent evening at the Annual ISES Gala that took place at the stunning and historic Old Mint in San Francisco. Usually, we would design a few elaborate floral arrangements to feature at the event, but this year we just wanted to enjoy the show. The event was set to have a circus theme along with cuisine from across the world, and the actual outcome had far exceeded our expectations!

Inside the Old Mint, there were several different rooms that had their own unique theme, like Moscow, China, France, India, and Italy. The rooms themselves were dressed from head to toe with perfectly themed decor and delicious cuisine to match.

This little bite by Small Potatoes Catering was composed of a warm biscuit finished with a sweet honey butter, then stacked with buttermilk fried chicken and Tabasco flavored cotton candy!
Here is a photo of the mesmerizing dessert station in the Big Apple-themed room.

Not only was the food great, but the beverage selection was equally enjoyable! They offered sparkling Brut Rose, classic Rye Manhattans, Pisco Sours, and Campari cocktails!

In addition to the excellent food and beverage being offered at the Gala, there were also captivating fire dancers, classic carnival games, hilarious photo booths, sexy samba dancers, tall stilt walkers, and light up hula hoop dancers!

The DJ down below in the vault had the most amazing and high tech holographic sound board.

Above, is a video of the fire dancing entertainment that we could not keep our eyes off of!
We apologize for the poor video quality.

Overall, we had a lovely time and wanted to thank ISES and the long list of vendors and sponsors for letting us be part of such a spectacular Gala!

50th Birthday Party

On June 30th we helped to celebrate a 50th birthday that was hosted at the lovely St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco. The arrangements we made for this special day were fun, vibrant, and unique along with bright orange and hot pink flowers! The birthday girl ending up loving the "high drama" arrangements we had designed for her party, and we couldn't agree more with her.

We placed mango calla lilies and orange tulips in a tall modern vase that was filled with glass beads and wrapped with hot pink wire giving it a dramatic effect.

The smaller cocktail arrangements were placed in a sherbet orange terracotta vase filled with hot pink roses and orange dahlias.

The high drama centerpiece we designed for the front entrance was made in a tall cylinder vase that was lined with kumquats, lemons, and glass beads. We used LED lighting at the base of the cylinder to illuminate the beads, and we also strung them amongst the branches creating a unique and modern arrangement.

It's always a pleasure for us when we get the chance to use our creativity and skills in designing something outside the box that has a "wow" impact!

Real Weddings 6.30.12

Real Weddings: Erin & Garren

Erin and Garren had a beautiful wedding at Our Lady of Angels Cathedral on June 30th, 2012. The reception that had followed took place at the historic Kohl Mansion in Burlingame, which had stunning architecture and lush rose gardens. The Kohl Mansion was the perfect venue for the reception to reflect the theme of the wedding, which was Victorian, romantic, and elegant. The color palette we chose for the wedding was composed of black magic red, berry red, mango orange, golden yellow, earthy green, and lush peach.

The bride had a lush cascade bouquet of all white flowers including calla lilies, David Austin garden roses, tulips, and stephanotis.

The lavish bridesmaid bouquet was composed of burgundy dahlias, mango calla lilies, cherry brandy roses, and touches of privet for greenery.

We custom designed the bride and groom's initials with moss and greenery, which was then hung on the back of their chairs and upon the carriage that swept them away after their beautiful wedding.
In the end, it turned out to be a stunning Victorian wedding with romantic reds, deep oranges, and lush greens.

Real Wedding: Abby & Efren

Abby and Efren had an equally as beautiful wedding that took place on June 30, 2012 at the stunning Grace Cathedral located in San Fransisco. The reception that followed the wedding was at  the infamous steak house in San Francisco known as Boboquivari's. The theme for this wedding was elegant, romantic, and traditional with colors of white, ivory, blush, and green accents.

The bride's bouquet was an elegant and round arrangement of white calla lilies, blush garden roses, white ranunculas, and touches of camellia greenery.
The groom's boutonniere was placed in a small silver "tussie mussie" holder to have an elegant and traditional look. Inside it we placed a white garden rose, white ranuncula, and a touch of greenery.

We hope you enjoyed the photos from both of these stunning weddings, if you have any questions about what we do here at Michael Daigian Design please don't hesitate to get in touch!
